Mahi-Mahi

This Sunday was a perfect day of relaxing with friends in beautiful and cool places, enjoying the hot sun, sea, views (& a quick heavy, but short rain), good company and good laughs. Before the mid-day my 3 friends and I arrived to Mahi-Mahi where we stayed easily until the late afternoon.

Mahi-Mahi is a… a restaurant/club of a luxurious hotel, built on the sea down the cliff where the hotel is situated. Basically it’s a pier with a bar/restaurant, tables, sunbathing chairs, two small swimming pools for kids etc. You get down there from the hotel by a cable car (!?). The good fun of the pier is that there is a tower in the end of it, where from you can take a cord slide down to the water by hanging from your hands, and you can do this as many times as you want. You can also simply jump from the tower to the water, and try a short but steep waterslide where in the end you fall about two meters before touching the sea. The place was crowded but got even more movement of boats and cruisers stopping by. It was so much fun to do the sliding and swimming, not forgetting about having lunch in a nice company&atmosphere, photo shooting and fooling around.

From Mahi-Mahi three of us continued to check out “Farol da Barra” [The light house of Barra], which is one of the main landmarks of Salvador. It was interesting to visit a museum inside of it and learn new stuff about the history of Salvador and the area around. But definitely the best part of “Farol da Barra” was to see the sunset!
